According to Woman's World Magazine, National Donut day was started by the Salvation Army in the 1930s as a way to honor women who served donuts to soldiers in WW1. It is held the first Friday in June and you might find deals at your local donut shops to honor the occasion.
Dunkin' Donuts is apparently offering a free doughnut when you buy a beverage today to celebrate the occasion.
Krispy Kreme is also offering free doughnuts.
So grab a cup of Joe and get out there and celebrate!
Well, your title certainly caught my attention :)
ReplyDeleteOur local Krispie Kreme no longer exists, but there's always Dunkin' Donuts.
Today, will be a sad day for my pants.
I love Dunkin Donuts...it's the best!
ReplyDeleteOur Krispie Kreme closed to, but Dunkin Donuts really close to my house. Maybe if I walk there it will offset the calories.
ReplyDeleteYum, my favorite is Krispy Kreme's glazed donut. They always give me a free one to sample whenever I walked in. Guess they know I always get out their door with at least a dozen on hand! :P
ReplyDeleteBTW, I'm hosting 2 giveaways on my blog. One for $50 Thrive products and the other one is baking molds and more. Please stop by and check them out. Have a wonderful weekend.
